Before the city wakes, University of Illinois Chicago is vacant and serene.

In an otherwise bustling downtown, the quietness of campus is captured in the soft early morning light before students, staff, and faculty arrive on campus.
The temperature begins to rise as the plants get their first taste of light for the day and early risers begin to appear on campus.
Even during times of stillness, there is movement.
UIC facilities management workers arrive early to campus to upkeep and beautify the grounds.
Whether it’s day or night, the university stays busy with learners, teachers, researchers, and workers in-between the brief moments of peacefulness.
